We are glad you’re interested in Vista Grande Baptist Church! We are excited about all the Lord is doing here at VGBC. Here is a quick snapshot of who we are: we have a high view of the Bible and we want everything we do and believe to be driven by God’s Word. We have a high view of Jesus. We want to see people become disciples of Jesus and grow as disciples of Jesus. Also, we value the family, and we want to see families grow stronger as you connect with our warm and welcoming church family.
We would love to meet you, and we hope you visit us soon at Vista Grande. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Our church’s mission is to make disciples who worship, connect, serve, and impact. We want to make disciples because this is the mission Jesus has given us (Matthew 28:19). Our goal is to see people become disciples and grow as disciples. We believe this discipleship process involves four key aspects. We ask and expect everyone to be involved in all four. First, we want you to join with the church family on Sunday mornings for corporate worship. We believe corporate worship is essential for discipleship. Next, we hope you will get connected with a smaller group of people where you can build authentic relationships around God’s Word. We have many places where you can connect, and Sunday School is one of the primary places for connecting with God’s people. Third, we ask you to serve God’s people at VGBC. We want you to give your time, energy, and resources for the sake of others. We ask this (not just because we have needs to be met) because this is what it means to be a disciple and grow as a disciple. Finally, we expect you to make an impact for Christ in your world. We want to equip you to share the gospel and get involved in missions and see our community and our world impacted for Christ. We want everything we do at VGBC to help you grow up in Christ.
GOD In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God has created everything including us. Because He is the Creator and the King, He determines the rules and the standards for His creation.
MAN For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The problem is that all of us have rebelled against the King. We have all sinned against God and we are under His wrath and judgment (John 3:18). If we remain in this sinful condition, we will die separated from God for eternity (Luke 12:5).
CHRIST But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). The solution to the problem is that God gave his only Son (John 3:16). God’s Son became a man and He obeyed the law perfectly for us (John 1:14 & Hebrews 5:9). He succeeded where we failed. This obedience allowed Christ to become a sacrifice and experience the wrath and judgment of God for us on the cross (Galatians 3:13). He died as our substitute and He experienced the death we deserve because of our sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). God accepted Christ’s sacrifice and raised Him from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:20). Jesus is seated at God’s right hand and He is returning soon (1 Peter 3:22 & 4:5).
RESPONSE If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). The good news is that God has provided the solution to our problem. However, we must respond to what God has done in Christ. We are saved by God’s grace, but we experience His grace by trusting in Christ alone for our right standing with God (Ephesians 2:8). True saving faith is marked by repentance, which is turning from our sin and turning to Christ as our Lord and Savior (Mark 1:15). If you are trusting in Christ, you can be confident you are forgiven and you will be with Christ forever (John 10:28).

Vista Grande adheres to the principles of the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message
I. The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
Exodus 24:4; Deuteronomy 4:1-
There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures.
